Some of Scotland’s most popular music festivals are announcing line-ups over the coming weeks with the likes of Rock Ness already unveiling acts Roisin Murphy and Fatboy Slim for a spring and summer of collected aural pleasures.

Live at Loch Lomond (2–3 August) revealed Sex Pistols, Groove Armada, Ocean Colour Scene and Carl Cox are among the stars in its two-day programme. Elsewhere, rumours are rife that rehab queen Amy Winehouse will play at this year’s T in the Park (11–13 July) with the official word coming on 15 February. T will definitely host army pipe band The Pipes and Drums of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, who recently signed a £1m deal with Universal music. The Guards have also been invited to play at Glastonbury, alongside Kings of Leon, The Verve and Jay-Z.

Across at Triptych, experimental rockers Dirty Projectors are the first of a myriad of names to be announced for the three city festival over 24–27 April. The full programme will be launched on 11 March. The Outsider will enjoy a second year of outdoor action and quality live acts in and around Cairngorms National Park, with a line-up announcement coming at the end of February.

The World Ceilidh at Knockengorroch has already announced the Peatbog Faeries, Capercaillie and Dreadzone for its hoedown on 22–25 May. Marvel also, at the Wickerman Festival which boasts one time Specials Neville Staples and Terry Hall, Damien Dempsey and DeRosa among the attractions for 25 & 26 July. Those heading further north might do well to take in Stonehaven Folk Festival (10–13 July) with Eddie Reader, Rachel Unthank and Michael Marra so far confirmed to perform.
