Scottish director has LA in his sights
A web designer from West Lothian is set to travel to LA next year after his short film made the shortlist for a prestigious award.
Chris Dunne will attend the Triggerstreet.com film festival for his seven minute film The Void, which has been nominated for the Budweiser Discovery Award.
Competing against 11 others, Mr Dunne said: “The Void was made by friends having a go at acting and no real budget, but has been shortlisted ahead of hundreds of other short films, some of which had substantial budgets, professional crews and trained actors.
“We just used available locations, available light and the equipment we had so our costs were pretty much nothing.”
Hollywood’s A-list is expected to make up the judging panel - which in previous years has included George Clooney and Tim Burton.
