Spears’ child custody battle to be open to media

A court commissioner in Los Angeles has ruled that the bitter child custody battle between Britney Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline should be open to the media. Celebrity magazine People and a local television network KNBC will argue in court on the 14 September that court proceedings should be made public. The recent erratic behaviour of Spears has made Federline’s lawyers push to seek greater custody of their sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, rather than the current 50:50 agreement. Federline’s lawyer Mark V. Kaplan told crowds outside the hearing that Federline wanted his two boys to be “isolated from risks” and claimed: “This has nothing to do with money.”
