It’s a terrible thing to confess, but it’s kind of hard to describe what Katy Wix (the twinkly dark one) and Anna Crilly (the crazy looking blonde) do without making it sound a bit rubbish. A couple of women acting daft, putting on a series of silly sketches and pretending to be crap and mad sounds more like a warning than a recommendation, but these two are incredible performers and the chemistry they share brings out the best in both of them.
Yet after the giddy glee of last year’s gobsmackingly fab show, Prawn Free’s material seems just a tad weak in places. But sketches involving Australian-accented owls campaigning against the bulldozing of their habitat, a couple of weirdoes trying to ban alcopops, and Jeff Goldblum and Richard Attenborough’s balloon safari are true to earlier form and just wonderful.
