4 To See: In Dundee – October 2026
A haunting Skye-inspired collaboration, Larry Dean’s comic quest to stay young and new work from France-Lise McGurn headline Dundee’s October arts scene

Scottish Ensemble have joined forces with piping sensation Brìghde Chaimbeul (Dundee Rep, Friday 16 October) for a cross-genre show which highlights the folklore and history of Skye. An earthy, rich and haunting experience can be expected. Larry Dean (Whitehall Theatre, Friday 2 October) may have recently got married but he is determined to never grow up. The Saturday Night Live UK star explains exactly how he aims to achieve this in amusing detail with his touring show Hellbent.
In the world of visual art, Glasgow-born France-Lise McGurn (DCA, until Sunday 15 November) exhibits The Charm Offensive. Effectively a site-specific installation created in the space, a series of paintings is accompanied by drawings, furniture, and various objects and ephemera gathered together from her own studio. And sometime during October, Irish pub chain Malones will open up a new branch in the city and they’re putting the feelers out for Dundee bands and solo musicians to perform there. Live entertainment is at the heart of this major renovation on Panmure Street and ample opportunities will be made for local talent to make their mark.
