Comic recovering after attack
We at The List are relieved to hear that popular stand-up and regular host at Edinburgh’s The Stand, Bruce Devlin, is making a speedy recovery following a brutal, unprovoked attack by a group of teenagers. Devlin, who has won countless admirers as compere of weekly show The Sunday Laugh-In and regularly makes appearances at A Kick Up the Tabloids and gay friendly night Oot, underwent surgery on a shattered jaw. Police are examining CCTV footage of the crime scene and appealing for witnesses to the assault, which began on a 22 Lothian bus on Friday 20 October and ended with the comedian being kicked unconscious as he got off the bus at Henderson Street by four teenagers aged around 16. It is thought that Bruce will be well enough to return to hosting duties at The Stand on November 10 (see comedy listings).
