Bananarama to play two nights in London this August: how to get tickets

Stalwarts of 80s pop Bananarama have announced two dates at the Lafayette in London this August. Tickets for the shows go on sale at 10am on Friday 6 May.

The gigs come partly in support of the band’s latest album Masquerade, set for release later this year to coincide with their 40th anniversary. They'll also make a number of festival appearances this summer, hitting Rewind Festival in Perth, Let's Rock in Kent and Coventry's Godiva Festival.

The chart-topping pop duo will wheel out their most enduring hits during each show, including ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘Venus’, ‘I Heard a Rumour’ and more. In an era of synth-pop revivalism, the shows may even attract a new generation of Bananarama fans.

Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward also released new single ‘Favourite’ on Friday 29 April, a sizzling slice of electro-pop originally featured on Dallin’s singer-songwriter daughter Alice Dallin-Walker's (Alice D) 2018 album Narcissus.

Woodward said, ‘It's just a brilliant pop song.’

She continued, ‘We've done a different take on it but with Alice on backing vocals because we couldn't not use her ad libs, they're just too good.’
