Young Fathers, Jockstrap, Arctic Monkeys and more shortlisted for the 2023 Mercury Prize
Ezra Collective, Loyle Carner, RAYE and Fred again… also feature on this year’s shortlist

The shortlist for Mercury Prize 2023 with FREE NOW has been announced, featuring acts like Arctic Monkeys, Ezra Collective, Olivia Dean, RAYE and more.
The 12 albums were unveiled at a special event in London on Thursday 27 July, and live on BBC Radio 6 Music. These selected by Anna Calvi, Hannah Peel, Jamie Cullum, as well as an array of music journalists and broadcasters including 6 Music & Radio 2 Head Jeff Smith, DJ Jamz Supernova and The Times’ music critic Will Hodgkinson.

The Album Of The Year will be unveiled at a live recording on Thursday 7 September at Hammersmith Apollo in London.
