Edinburgh's festival season keeps on trucking in July with all things jazz and blues related. Here's a quick list of some top Scottish talents to catch across the festival's ten days.

David Milligan
A solo piano performance here from Midlothian's Milligan featuring tracks on his most recent album, Momento, which was dubbed by All About Jazz as 'distinctive and beautiful'. And if you all behave, he might even treat you to some new compositions.
Assembly Roxy and online, Monday 19 July, 2pm, in-person £20; online £10.

Fergus McCreadie
Pianist and improviser extraordinaire, McCreadie has continued to climb the ladder of Scottish jazz since Turas, his self-released debut album from 2018. His trio performs with Ilford's Grammy-winning sax man Tim Garland, while later in the festival he hosts a workshop suitable for beginners as well as intermediate level players.
Online, Tuesday 20 July, 6pm, £10; online workshop, Saturday 24 July, 10am, £5.

Matt Carmichael Quartet
This young Highlander made the final of 2020's BBC Young Jazz Musician competition, and his rise continues with the release of a critically lauded album, Where Will The River Flow.
Assembly Roxy and online, Tuesday 20 July, 2pm, in-person sold out; online £10.

Louise Dodds Quartet
Appearing here with a crack band (Alyn Cosker on drums, Andrew Robb on double bass, and Alan Benzie on piano), Edinburgh vocalist Dodds spent much of the pandemic composing new songs. This gig will showcase the fruits of her lockdown labour.
Assembly Roxy and online, Saturday 24 July, 2pm, in-person £20; online £10.

Graham Costello
This Glasgow drummer boy is at the forefront of Scotland's innovative modern jazz scene, and for this gig his four-piece band includes bassist Mandy Clarke who has previously played with the varied likes of Bombskare, The Go! Team, and KT Tunstall.
Online, Saturday 24 July, 7pm, £10.
