Texas to headline Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Concert In The Gardens
The Scottish rock band will be accompanied by Callum Beattie and host Susie McCabe

Scottish band Texas will headline Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Concert In The Gardens on Tuesday 31 December, making their third appearance at the New Year’s Eve festival (and their first since 2005). The band announced their special gig last night during their sold-out show at the Glasgow Hydro. They’ll be joined by Edinburgh’s own Callum Beattie, with Glaswegian comedian Susie McCabe hosting.
The concert will take place against the iconic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, accompanied by the festival's traditional fireworks display at midnight.

Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday 20 September at 10am, priced at £72.50 plus booking fees. Each ticket includes a £1 donation to CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland). A limited pre-sale is available for those registered at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay website, and the full programme will be announced in the coming weeks.
Texas formed in 1986 and have sold more than 40 million records, including hits such as ‘I Don’t Want A Lover’, ‘Say What You Want’ and ‘Inner Smile’.
Lead singer Sharleen Spiteri said, ‘We can’t wait to play here for a third time. So get on your glad rags and let’s party for the New Year.’
Texas will be accompanied by Edinburgh local Callum Beattie who has recently played sold-out shows at Barrowlands and Usher Hall. His debut album, People Like Us, reached number one on the Official Scottish Albums Chart.
On his upcoming performance, Beattie said, ‘Being asked to play the Concert In The Gardens at Hogmanay is without a doubt the greatest highlight of my career so far, and to be doing it with Sharleen and the guys just makes it even sweeter. I can’t believe it!’

Host Susie McCabe has earned herself a reputation as one of the country’s best comedians, and was the recipient of this year’s Sir Billy Connolly Spirit Of Glasgow Award.
The Hogmanay Street Party, which takes place alongside the concert, will entertain 45,000 people gathered in Edinburgh’s city centre and along Princes Street. The event will feature live music, DJs, street performances, funfair rides, and food and drink vendors. Tickets for the street party are on sale now at £30 plus fees and 50p charity donation. Edinburgh residents can snag tickets with a £6 discount.
