Edinburgh's Hidden Door festival has revealed further details of its two-night programme of live arts set to take place next month. Known for transforming neglected spaces into vibrant cultural hubs, Hidden Door is set to occupy former industrial site The Paper Factory, located in the Maybury Quarter in the west of Edinburgh.

On Friday 22 November, London-based singer and producer Paige Kennedy will bring their innovative music to the stage. Audiences can also look forward to the avant-electropop stylings of veteran singer-songwriter Jane Weaver, returning to Hidden Door following her appearance at its residency in King Stables Road back in 2016.

And on Saturday 23 November, Black feminist punks Big Joanie share the bill with alt rock triumvirate HotWax. Support comes from doom-punk foursome Witch Fever and Sarah/Shaun, a duo hailing from Edinburgh.

In addition to live music, the vast Paper Factory site will be transformed into a gallery space, showcasing work from more than 20 visual artists. Visitors will be able to explore different factory spaces featuring a wide variety of artforms, including sculpture, dance, performance art, installations, painting, printmaking and large-scale works.

Inspired by the festival's anniversary theme, ‘Past, Present, Future’, the exhibition includes works from Aimee Finlay, Jo Fleming Smith, Beth Shapeero & Fraser Taylor, Sian Landau, James Epps, Marly Merle and Justine Watt. Curator Jill Boualaxai explained the theme: ‘We’re exploring time, history, and archaeology, and the idea of nature creeping back into that industrial space.'
