Brandi Carlile has announced The Lost Time tour, which will feature a handful of UK and Ireland tour dates. Tickets for the shows go on sale at 9am on Friday 7 February. Scroll to the bottom of this article for a detailed list of the singer-songwriter’s UK and Ireland dates.
The Grammy winner will hit the road with bandmates The Hanseroth Twins, Abe Laboriel Jr and SistaStrings.
Carlile said, ‘We are going to take you on a journey through our songs and albums. The moments you’ve missed and moments yet to materialize! From our very first song to brand new music no one’s even heard yet. We plan to create some unforgettable evenings of community and musical transcendence with you.
‘When I was a kid, the thought of making the kind of music that could take me overseas to the UK and Europe was outrageous. Inaccessible. The connection to these places was something I felt from a very young age.
‘The penchant was musical and it came directly from my absolute obsession and love for Elton John. My pre-adolescent Elton discovery was a gateway drug to Queen, the Beatles, U2, Kate Bush, George Michael, Sinéad O’Connor, David Bowie, Radiohead, on and on. And I imagined a moody and mysterious utopia of complicated musical bliss. I had visions of myself on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. I dreamed it was me standing on the stage at Live Aid, clutching a half mic stand and singing “Radio Gaga” instead of Freddie.
‘When I played Hyde Park and Drury Lane last year, I was transported back to a part of myself I don’t want to lose.
‘More than I could ever explain, your soil shaped me as an artist from thousands of miles away.
‘My life has come to a point where I want to make up for some serious lost time. Not just the time it’s taken me between tours and albums to sing my songs for you, but even the time before that. The time lost to dreamers and children who dream of faraway places they may never even see.
‘I’m deeply moved by the fact that so many of you have been with me like an old friend for all these years, even though I’ve not been a frequent visitor. Forgive me for that.’
Carlile’s last album, In These Silent Days, was released in 2021; it earned her ten Grammy nominations and three wins.
