Abracadabra, B*tch! magic review: Hilarious and spellbinding

Abracadabra, b*tch is something you might find yourself screaming by the end of this performance. This is no ordinary magic show: there’s no top hat or black wand. Instead, we’re greeted by a New York ginger, Rueben Moreland, dressed as if he just got bullied in school. Moreland is hilarious. His jokes hit like lightning and come out of nowhere. Crowd-work skills are also impressive and his audience’s participation in the tricks is truly magical (pun intended).

With art presentations, impromptu sculpting competitions and heart-to-heart musical apologies, this show is the full package. There’s never a dull moment and the audience is pretty much always on the edge of its seat. Use of audio-visuals, lighting and music uplift the whole show. In short, it’s a dish of pure entertainment; half each of comedy and magic, with a dash of absurdity for taste.

Abracadabra, B*tch!, The Garden Of Unearthly Delights, until Sunday 23 March, 7.15pm.
