Kiri Pritchard-McLean strides onto her stage in a brightly coloured cape as if she is ready to kick some serious butt. With her super-heroine vibe, she is indeed out to take down the patriarchy, one cheating bloke at a time. Her chief target for this new show is the ex who made her the object of gaslighting, insisting that she was delusional to believe that he was having an affair when that is exactly what was going on all the time.

At a festival where a large amount of comedians are seeking to make light of their woes through the cathartic act of re-opening some deep wounds every 24 hours for the best part of a month (except for the 13th or 14th for those who wanted a day off from the slog), Pritchard-McLean is in a prime position to explore the mental health issues that arise from living with persistent levels of paranoia.

All this might sound a little heavy-going, and especially in the latter sections it does feel like being on the receiving end of an emotional wringing-out without ever being given the opportunity to offer a comment, but thankfully Pritchard-McLean rarely forgets that she is also here to entertain. Her joke rate is strong, albeit not as prolific as in her 2017 show, Appropriate Adult, but you might well leave the room feeling more browbeaten than enlightened.
