TRNSMT's headline acts have been announced for its next three-day music blowout on Glasgow Green, alongside a raft of other bands. This year’s festival will take place from Friday 11–Sunday 13 July and early bird tickets go on sale for a limited time at 9am on Friday 6 December.

Veteran American rapper 50 Cent will top the bill on Friday night, marking the first rapper to headline the festival since Stormzy in 2019. Saturday will find Scotland’s own Biffy Clyro taking to the stage, having previously played the festival in 2017. Snow Patrol will play out the fest on Sunday, no doubt cranking out emotive chart toppers like ‘Chasing Cars’, ‘Run’, ‘You’re All I Have’ and more.

Alongside the headline acts, bands like Fontaines DC, The Script, Wet Leg, Kneecap, Twin Atlantic, The Kooks, Wunderhorse and The Lathums will visit Glasgow Green. They’ll be joined by solo performers including Sigrid, Biig Piig, Jamie Webster, Gracie Abrams, Nina Nesbitt and Nieve Ella.

Geoff Ellis, Festival Director of TRNSMT, said, ‘After a record-breaking sell-out in 2024, we can’t wait to have everyone back for the eighth year of incredible live music.

‘We've worked hard to pull together an eclectic line-up including homegrown headliners and global icons, spanning a range of genres we know music fans of all ages will love.

‘There are plenty more acts and festival experiences to be announced next year so, keep your eyes peeled.’

The lack of female headliners on the bill will no doubt prompt backlash online, having caused a stir in past years and viewed as endemic of the festival's general lack of diversity. As pointed out by the BBC, ‘In the event's history only one woman has been involved in headlining the festival - Pulp keyboardist Candida Doyle in 2023.’

Despite its ‘safe pair of hands’ approach to headliners, we found a lot to enjoy further down the bill at last year’s TRNSMT. ‘It’s testament to the busy folks at DF Concerts that we were able to eschew the usual “review the big-hitters” formula of coverage and focus on some legitimately niche and musically diverse acts across the three biggest stages. No one could claim the brand had confounded its conservative image, but there’s much more than meets the eye across TRNSMT.’ Read our full review here
