There's something special about seeing a group of close friends become successful together. Here's hoping, then, that Witt 'N' Camp's ascent in the comedy world continues, they're so close that strangers assume they're dating. We caught up with them ahead of their 2018 show, Swag.

What one thing do you remember most about how you met each other?

Charlie: I remember thinking 'is it a mistake to share a bedroom with a stranger for a year?' (after drama school, I was totally broke so sharing a studio flat was the only way I could afford to live in London).

Holly: It was a bit of gamble sharing such a small space with someone you don't really know. But the minute she suggested we make a sex rota, I knew we'd be besties.

Witt: If you're sharing a bedroom, you've got to get organised about who gets to have sex when. That's just common sense.

Camp: Six years on, we're still living together.

Witt: We each have our own bedroom now though. It's how our parents know we're 'making it'.

What's the best thing about working with the other one?

Camp: She's so fucking cool, I look good by association.

Witt: Ha! Yes, there's that! I think working with your best mate is a really special thing. We're never afraid to look like absolute pricks in front of the other and that's usually when the best ideas happen.

What's the worst thing about working with the other one?

Camp: There is no 'worst thing'.

Witt: I got one: our friendship has reached such a bizarre level of intimacy that people assume we're dating. I must have lost out on at least half a dozen one-night stands by now.

If your comedy partner hadn't become part of a double act, what do you think she would have done with her life?

Camp: She'd be in a constant state of existential crisis.

Witt: I reckon you'd be slinging meth.

Camp: I don't know what that even means.

Witt: That's why we're so good together.

If your current comedy partner was suddenly unable to work with you ever again, which famed comedian would you headhunt to replace them?

Camp: Why wouldn't be working together?

Witt: It's just hypothetical, babe.

Camp: If you started a new double act with someone I'd hunt them down.

Witt: Oh, me too. I would end them.

Camp: The only free pass would be Joanna Lumley.

Witt: Oh yeah, she's so goddamn fabulous.
