Pamela DeMenthe presents a seminar for aspiring erotic fiction writers. Since this is a comedy show there's a bit more to it than that and, as DeMenthe discusses her writing career, the line between her characters' tumultuous romances and her own tempestuous relationships becomes blurred.

We've seen plenty faux seminar-style shows before and DeMenthe has done her homework. As a character, she remains blissfully ignorant of the secondary narrative that the audience is privy to. Her PowerPoint presentation is a show unto itself with dodgy graphs, anti-virus pop-ups, tweeting and a Venn diagram that would make data analysts weep at its inaccuracy then chortle at its impropriety.

But all this is set dressing for a dramatic reading from DeMenthe's latest one-handed classic, Sticky Digits. An unlikely tale of sexual liberation and corvids, she hits every erotica trope and uses more synonyms for the male member than you can shake a tumescent meat popsicle at. So committed is she to the character that it takes a little bit of googling to uncover the nom de réalité behind the nom de plume: Jenny May Morgan's sustained character comedy is a satisfying addition to the genre.
