Winter is coming. The TV schedules always get busier with everyone settling down on the couch as the days get colder and the nights get longer. Tin Star

A tale of bloody revenge in a remote mountain town in this new series from writer Rowan Joffe (28 Weeks Later, The American), starring Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks.

Narcos – Season 3

More cocaine fuelled action as cops take on the South American crime cartels. With Pablo Escobar out of the picture Javier Peña (Pedro Pascal) is going solo (Boyd Holbrook will not be returning for season 3) to take on the gangs competing to fill the power vacuum the drug lord left in his wake.

BoJack Horseman – Season 4

More animated misadventures for everyone's favourite washed up equine actor (voiced by Will Arnett). Creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg has vaguely hinted at a political angle for season 4.

Cold Feet – Season 7

The Cold Feet reunion was a dull stodgy affair. But it was massively popular so James Nesbitt, John Thomson, Fay Ripley, Hermonie Norris and Robert Bathhurst will return for more midlife dramedy in Manchester.

Outlander – Season 3

The time travelling historical romance returns after an extended break picking up after the Battle of Culloden. Also get ready for a move from Scotland to …

Star Trek: Discovery

Trek heads back to TV. A prequel focusing on the conflict between the Klingons and the United Federation of Planets. Developed by Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) and Alex Kurtzman (Fringe) and starring Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones, Michelle Yeoh and Sonequa Martin-Green amongst the crew.

American Horror Story: Cult

The seventh season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's anthology horror series. Still a bit of a mystery but we do know it all kicks off in in Michigan on election night. Lena Dunham is a surprise addition to the cast alongside returning favourites Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.

Big Bang Theory – Season 11

The geeky comedy continues with more nerdy laughs. CBS are also launching an official spin-off Young Sheldon but so far no news on a UK network.

Dynasty

Yes that Dynasty. A modern day reboot of the iconic soap opera about money, rivalry and shoulder pads.

Walking Dead – Season 8

It all kicked off big style at the end of season 7. Expect a huge fight for survival and all out war with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Lucille. Oh and some zombies.

More retro thrills that should connect with fans of 80s sci-fi (the trailer references Dragon's Lair, 'Thriller', and Ghostbusters).
