8 markets and street food hubs around Edinburgh

Bonnie & Wild

Level 4, St James Quarter
Edinburgh’s weather isn’t kind to street food fans, but we’ve adapted. Bonnie & Wild brings together a dozen top vendors in a buzzy space including newest recruit Flùr, focusing on New York-style pizza. There’s Sri Lankan spice from Kochchi plus unbelievable burgers from El Perro Negro. When the sun shines, there’s a handful of outdoor trucks at the Little King Street exit, too.

Edinburgh Farmers’ Market

Castle Terrace, every Saturday, 9am–2pm
The OG farmers’ market is stuffed full of delicious local produce, right under the shadow of Edinburgh Castle. Check the Insta feed for the week’s stallholders, but expect the likes of East Coast Organics, Company Bakery and Errington Cheese (with samples to snaffle along the way) alongside street food vendors like Levantine and Café St Honoré.

Edinburgh Street Food

Omni Centre, Leith Street
This indoor/outdoor street food hub works for every size of crowd with any kind of dietaries in all sorts of weather: you can’t say fairer than that. The current line-up of vendors includes team favourite Razzo Pizza, piled high barbecue from Fred’s Backyard Barbeque and excellent Japanese street food from Harajuku.

Leith Market

Dock Place, every Saturday, 10am–4pm
Leith Market makes a fine start or end point for a wander along the Water Of Leith, or a browse before exploring the Shore. Local produce is available and there’s a vegan focus on the first Saturday of the month, with regular traders like Missy’s Vegan Bakes and Och Vegan.

The Pitt

20 West Shore Road
Sunny weekends are all about The Pitt, with a small but perfectly formed roster of street food traders so close to the sea you can practically paddle while placing your order. They’re working hard to build a community hub, so you’ll also find a sauna, spaces for kids and teens, and a weekly produce market on Saturday mornings.

Stockbridge Market

Saunders Street, every Sunday, 10am–4pm
This buzzy market strikes a great balance of street food, produce and crafty bits right in the heart of Stockbridge. Lots of Edinburgh’s street food heroes got their start here, so it’s worth keeping your eye on who’s popping up. Whether you’re looking to fill your stomach or your larder, it’s always a wholesome afternoon out.

Also try… The Neighbourgood Market in Stockbridge from May to July with its rotating band of street food kitchens, or Portobello Food Market, on the last Sunday of the month, with a top roster of traders.
