It's one of the biggest TV debuts in 2016. After presenting Top Gear at the BBC for 14 years after a much publicised bust up over a steak dinner Jeremy Clarkson was out on his ear. James May and Richard Hammond resigned in solidarity. However they didn't spend too long roaming the wilderness with a reported global audience of 350 million for Top Gear there was a bidding war. Amazon Prime won. So welcome back Clarkson, May and Hammond as they embark on The Grand Tour with new episodes dropping every week on Amazon Prime Video from 18 Nov.

They've tweaked the format as they head around the world but expect the usual banter, high end motor cars, larking about and challenges with stop overs in California, South Africa, Germany and Nashville. It's probably Amazon's biggest ever acquisition with a reputed price tag of £160 million for the first series.

Good Girls Revolt

'Inspired by real events' and based on Lynn Povich's book The Good Girls Revolt, as a group of young female journalists fight for recognition for their work in 1969. Grace Gummer plays a young Nora Ephron alongside Genevieve Angelson, Anna Camp and Erin Drake.

The Man in the High Castle

Intriguing sci-fi set in a world where the Nazis won World War II. A bizarre dystopian alternate future based on a book by Philip K Dick.

Mozart in the Jungle

Drama set in the world of New York Symphony loosely based on oboist, Blair Tindall's memoir Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music. Gael García Bernal is the young conductor tryign to keep his feet on the ground. Full of big characters and temperamental musicians, also starring Malcolm McDowell, Bernadette Peters and Saffron Burrows. Season three starts on Fri 9 Dec.

Outlander

Not actually produced by Amazon but the only way you can watch the time travelling romantic epic Outlander first in the UK. Same goes for Mr Robot, Preacher, Vikings and Black Sails.

Red Oaks

Coming of age comedy-drama set in the 80s as college student David Meyers (Craig Roberts) finds summer work at the exclusive country club. Season two premières on Fri 11 Nov.

Ripper Street

Expect more bloody crimes and dastardly deeds on the streets of Whitechapel. After BBC dropped Ripper Street Amazon swooped in and saved the much loved Victorian police thriller from series three onwards. Fifth and final series available now.

Transparent

Amazon's critical darling, created by Jill Soloway, the truly exceptional Transparent follows the lives of the Pfefferman family after Mort (Jeffrey Tambor) announces he is transgender. A brilliantly written examination of family relationships and gender identity. Already picked up for a fourth season.

Tumble Leaf

It's not just adult viewers Amazon Prime Video also cater to little 'uns. Tumble Leaf is a super cute stop motion animation following the adventures of blue fox Fig and his caterpillar pal Stick. Other Amazon originals for kids include Wishenpoof!, Just Add Magic and The Stinky & Dirty Show.
