'Well, this is an industry fuckfest!' announces Fin Taylor with an amusing mixture of gratitude and disdain. Clearly word has got out about Whitey McWhiteface among his fellow comedians as a whole host of them (from Ivo Graham to Russell Howard) are indeed crammed in here with the rest of us. And to a human, we all enjoy this blitzkrieg of a show from a comic who is steadily rising to the top of the Fringe.

In his cutting analysis of white, middle-class privilege, angst and impotence, he dissects loaded language (while white people 'potter', black people doing the same thing are apparently 'loitering'), and insists that Caucasians simply cannot be racially offended. So, they must find other areas to experience (by proxy) a minority struggle, whether it's through claiming to have mental health issues or indulging in an alternative diet. You might find much fault with where he's going with this, but you can't deny his comic prowess as he speculates wildly on the parts of the human body that would make for an ideal culinary delicacy.

'There's a lot to take in', Taylor confirms as he winds up his hour with a hilariously frenetic white version of Def Comedy Jam. And there is indeed a lot to ponder as we troop out, blown away by a gag-packed hour of thought-provoking stand-up. Plus, he surely has the best (only) routine this August to bring together the Islamic State and Mary Berry.
