This is a show about what action heroes like Harrison Ford and Bruce Willis mean to us and how, with a massive dollop of irony, they taught Rowena Hutson both to be a man and to be a woman. Threaded through cheery placard-waving dances is the story of her life: first as a girl who was sure she was a boy (for very specific reasons, despite the evidence), wanting a part of all the 'mud and bruises and that unstoppable giant piece of boisterousness' it involves; then as a girl, wanting the same things but unexpectedly confronted with something far darker in the nature of some men; then as a woman embracing life, friends, fun and sex.

If you don't want to be best mates with 'Ro' by the end of this hour, you're either dead inside or you've passed out from the heat. Some spaces just shouldn't be Fringe venues and this is one of them. Still, it is a cheap, fun gig. Despite the fact that her set is reliant on mime you can barely see, and placards she must hold high for the rear half of the audience, Hutson bounced through it all gamely with a massive, enthusiastic grin.
