Gambling, booze, sex and drugs: Scott Agnew's been addicted to them all. A classic case of addictive personality, every time he kicks one habit he gets sucked into another, and over the course of I've Snapped My Banjo String, he goes into gloriously sordid detail to describe his extraordinary escapades.

This is a follow-up to his 2012 show Tales of the Sauna, an eye-opening (for some) exposé of the gay sauna scene. He extensively toured that show around the UK and further afield, helpfully adding more astonishing anecdotes to his burgeoning repertoire.

From the moment he takes to the stage, Agnew doesn't look entirely comfortable. Nervously fidgeting on a slightly-too-high stool, he can't help but lean on his mic stand for comfort. He might not be a slick storyteller, but he's very likeable and his candour is endearing, particularly when he details how he found long-term love from the unlikely source of a chemsex Grindr party. About ten minutes from the end, events take an unexpected turn and, having levelled with the audience, Agnew visibly settles in. This is an unpredictable, extremely personal and passionate show, its impact heightened by the intimacy of the venue, and it leaves everyone with much to think about.
