The best nights to visit this NYE in Birmingham.
Whether you're looking for a huge blowout or a more chilled night out, we've got a few suggestions on where you could spend the last few hours of 2016.
Head to The Rainbow Venues (29 Lower Trinity St) for five stages of music featuring artists like My Nu Leng, Oneman, Redlight, Kurupt FM, Logan Sama and Monki, excellent production and a 5am license. Another big one is The Acid Experiment – NYE Rave 2016, which will see a takeover of Lab11 (Trent St), with acid house, techno and club classics all night.
Taking place in a derelict monastery accessed by Digbeth High Street, VOID – NYE 2016 – Alice in Voidland is set to be an awesome house and techno party, accompanied by Alice and Wonderland fancy dress and trippy visuals. At Hare and Hounds (106 High St), expect a mix of funk, hip-hop, reggae, house and disco thanks to Freestyle, Young Culture Sound and No Fakin, along with Coloré, Moodfix and Moulin Groove.
The Moseley NYE Project at The Old Print Works (506 Moseley Rd) is a party worth going to. Billed as a 'night of beats, bass and culture', entry will be cheap and drinks affordable, with all money made and raised going towards helping The Old Print Works become a community hub in the future.
With an underwater/nautical theme announced, Magic Door NYE – The Abyss 2016 will spread three rooms of music over the sprawling warehouse space that is Boxxed (104-108 Floodgate St), with residents Maxxi Soundsystem, Jukes of Hazard and Deano Ferrino, as well as special guest DJs.
Join 3000 other ravers at the O2 Institute (78 Digbeth) for Sun City NYE Festival, where you'll be able to catch over 30 headline artists playing old skool garage from 9pm onwards. DJ Richard Yates will also be spinning at The Alchemist (Colmore Row) until 2am.
The retro-themed Night Owl's (17 Lower Trinity St), NYE Party is the place to be if northern soul, motown, funk and ska are your thing. Residents and guest DJs will take you through to 6am.
Over in Wolverhampton, The 12th Hour NYE at Starworks Warehouse (Frederick St) will have three arenas of music with 3D visuals and a secret afterparty scheduled.
