A guide to New Year's Eve club nights in Edinburgh

Auld Reekie's clubs offer plenty more opportunities to get down than the classic Hogmanay Street Party
Edinburgh may be world-famous for its Hogmanay party but away from the streets of the city centre, Auld Reekie's clubs have much to offer on NYE. From Leith to the Cowgate, there are a number of different parties taking place to help you bring in the New Year.
Sneaky Pete's and Bigfoot's Tea Party will be hosting The Black Madonna in what is probably the most highly anticipated NYE club night this year. Taking over The Biscuit Factory (4-6 Anderson Pl) with support from Nd_baumecker, the show will mark Marea Stamper's Edinburgh-debut, having previously appeared at Glasgow's Sub Club. As well as throwing a huge party at The Biscuit Factory, Sneaky Pete's (73 Cowgate) will be having their own shindig at the club with Gerd Janson. He'll be playing an early set from 10pm to 12.30am, meaning you can catch him before the bells (and after). Resident DJs Telfort, DJ Cheers, Kami and Dan will keep you dancing through to 5am.
At The Liquid Room (9c Victoria Street), join the Nightvision crew for their always-popular Hogmanay bash, featuring Alan Fitzpatrick and Jackmaster. Mumbo Jumbo NYE returns to The Bongo Club (66 Cowgate) with resident DJs Trendy Wendy and Steve Austin, after a sell-out party last year. Expect the best mix of house, disco, mashups and more, with live percussion and congas courtesy of Bongo Dave. Just opposite The Bongo Club at the Cowshed Warehouse, you'll find an NYE Warehouse Party with three rooms of music brought to you by Fly Club, 131 Northside Savage Club and East Coast Ends.
Over at The Mash House (Hastie's Close, 37 Guthrie St), the Pulse X Headset NYE Party will bring together a line-up of DJs from some of the city's best club nights including Big n Bashy and Witness. Next door at La Belle Angele (11 Hasties Close) Karnival & Kapital will be joining forces to welcome Marc Houle and Nick Dow while at Cabaret Voltaire, Gasoline Tweak_Machine Hogmanay promises to be a belter, with Cheap Picasso b2b Tweak_, Eyeman and more taking to the decks.
Wee Dub Hogmanay at Studio 24 (24-26 Calton Rd) will return with reggae, Jungle, dancehall, tropical and more across two floors. Downstairs, you'll find DJ Vadim, King Yoof & MC Spee along with others, while Samedia Shebeen will take the reins upstairs.
For something a little different, head to the Vegas! Grand Hogmanay Ball at The Voodoo Rooms (19a W Register St) where you'll be treated to music from Becc Sanderson and The Counsellors, cabaret and burlesque, show girls and lots of glitz and glamour. At Summerhall, The Soul Foundation will be hosting Hitsville Hogmanay Soul Revue, a massive party with motown, disco, northern soul and lots of funk and Soul Train moves thrown into the mix. The Caves (8-10 Niddry St) will be having their own Hogmanay party, complete with a good old fashioned ceilidh and some banging tunes.
