The Boiler Shop NYE Party (20 South St) is one that you'd be crazy to miss. The Guilty Pleasures crew are back again in the venue after the mammoth success that was their Halloween Party. This time, you're invited to help them celebrate NYE in the 'ultimate pop safe space', as it's described. Sing (or scream) along to tracks from Whitney Houston to Taylor Swift and be entertained by Old Dirty Brasstards, a 10-piece bass and drum collective that cover a whole range of genres.

Digital (Bio Science Centre Times Square, Scotswood Rd) is known to be one of the best clubs in the UK so why not spend your New Year's Eve there? FutureLove will feature massive production, laser shows, smoke canons and more, with music provided by Felix Leiter till 4am. Over at Illegitimate (12 Bigg Market), Condukt will also be running till 4am, with DJ Chris Shaw helping you see off 2016 with the best house and R&B tracks.

Projekt are pulling out all the stops for their Projekt NYE bash at the O2 Academy (Westgate Rd) while Anne Savage will be spinning at The Globe (11 Railway St) alongside Phil Mackintosh, Kerry James, Vicky Vegas and Ak Wright.

Head to the Sage Gateshead (St Mary's Square) for a cracking NYE party courtesy of rhythm and blues rockers Vintage Trouble. Big Boss Man will open the night, with DJ sets from Billy Keen, Gary Williams, Alex Johnson and Giovanni Spatuzzi as well as music on the Concourse from The Phil Davids Good Times Band. You'll also be in the perfect spot to watch the fireworks over the Tyne.

There's also Soulutions at Hoochie Coochie (54 Pilgrim St), who will be hosting a night of disco, funk and soul; Willy Wonka Wonderland! at Tiger Tiger (The Gate, Newgate St), which will see the venue turn into a chocolate factory-themed grown-up playground; and Bonbar's (The Assembly Rooms, Fenkle St) glamourous Bond themed Black & White Ball.
