Glasgow Memorial Chapel fundraising event in memory of musician Simon Cottrell
Glasgow Memorial Chapel is playing host to a very special event on Sat 15 Dec in memory of musician Simon Cottrell, who passed away suddenly last year. Simon's partner Jana Robert has organised the concert along with Alice Black and they have brought together a lineup of very special guests to fundraise for the British Heart Foundation.
The Christmas concert will feature live music from A New International, Stevie Jackson of Belle & Sebastian, Francis McDonald of Teenage Fanclub, Richard Luke of Uncle Bob and a surprise guest. It most certainly will be a unique and intimate evening with great musicians celebrating life. As well as good vibes, there'll be short films, a raffle and (because it's Christmas, you know) mulled wine and mince pies.
Jana Robert said, 'We are celebrating our partner's, mother's and friends' lives, and everyone else who lost their life to heart failure. We raise money for the British Heart Foundation, who do incredibly valuable and important work to ensure heart failure becomes a thing of the past. My partner Simon Cottrell was steeped in Glasgow's music scene, and it only feels right that some of his amazing friends have so kindly agreed to lend their talent to this concert.'
University of Glasgow Memorial Chapel, Sat 15 Dec at 7pm. Tickets £18 / £13 / £9.
