Scouser Adam Rowe is fully aware of his own shortcomings and he's written a show about how lazy, rude and up himself he is. Except he's obviously none of those things. His stories about his quest to be less of an unbearable, selfish, lying narcissist make up most of the show which, ironically, being a stand-up comedian, is of course still all about him.

A 25-year-old who used to be bullied as a kid for his lazy eye, and regularly accused of being gay (he went to an all-boys school where even using a gel pen was enough to earn you a bashing), he's developed some excellent comebacks, years down the line. His love of Greggs sausage rolls also gets covered after a reviewer last year accused him of being fatphobic because of some jokes he made about his own chubbiness.

He turns most disasters (bad reviews, the purchase of a six-quid jacket from Primark, a first date to Liverpool's Slavery Museum, the death of someone he barely knew) into solid yarns, told in a self-deprecating but still deliberately gobby style. A very bearable, mocking journey into the personal development of a recovering narcissist.
