Edinburgh doesn't seem to sleep when August comes around, with so much going on in every nook and cranny of the city. If you're looking to go all out and pack as much entertainment as possible into your long days at the Fringe, you might be interested to know that there are some great late night shows and parties well worth checking out. Here's a round-up of some of our favourites.

Rhythm Machine
Genre-spanning tunes from resident DJs Francis Dosoo and Yves along with performances, installations and more from a regularly rotating lineup of artists.

Late Night Lip Service
Gingzilla hosts a night of acts from across the Fringe, with drag queens, divas, lip-sync battles and lots of epic performances.

Hip Hop Time Machine
Take an interactive journey through the history of hip hop from Grandmaster Flash to Kanye, with breakdancing and hip hop showcases added to the mix.

Massaoke's Club La La
Join in for an awesome karaoke-style party where a live band play some of the best anthems from the 80s, 90s, 00s and beyond as lyrics pop up on the screen for you to sing (or scream) along to.

Athens of the North Disco Club – Festival party
A seven hour disco, soul and funk party from Edinburgh's Athens of the North label with nothing but vinyl all night long.

Mr Scruff on the Fringe
Andy Carthy's back with his eclectic mix of music from hip hop to disco and everything in between, adding his trademark cheeky style and humour to the party atmosphere.

Optimo
On the heels of their 20th birthday festival Optimo 20, the legendary duo make a pit stop in Edinburgh for another one of their hugely popular festival appearances, bringing their usual assortment of sounds and records.

An Evening With an Immigrant
Award-winning poet and playwright Inua Ellams tells his story of belonging and finding home as an immigrant, having escaped fundamentalist Islam in Nigeria.

Ben Caplan and the Casual Smokers
The Canadian folk musician performs with his band, playing music that's inspired by Eastern European and Jewish folk traditions.

Charlotte Church's Late Night Pop Dungeon
Nothing Ever Happens Here brings the pop songstress to Summerhall for two nights of her 'torture chamber of disco', with excellent covers of songs from years past that you may or may not remember.

Richard Gadd: Monkey See Monkey Do
The Scottish comedian returns with his 2016 Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning show, which offers a sensitive and compelling look at themes of mental health.

Black Coffee Edinburgh Fringe Closing Party
A joint party from Hector's House, blk29 and Bourbon, Black Coffee, one of South Africa's biggest DJs, comes to the Fringe for his Edinburgh debut.

Best of Burlesque
A Fringe favourite, Best of Burlesque annually delivers an all-star cast featuring some of the most talented emerging and established acts around, with performances in strip tease, variety and cabaret.

Juan Vesuvius: I Am Your Deejay
The Venezuelan DJ legend brings his club night/comedy show back to the Fringe, taking you through a history of electronic music, via Chicago and Manchester.
