Magic is complicated. Magic doesn't have it's own colour coded section in the Fringe brochure – it's variety, comedy and theatre all mixed together. This year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe has mind readers, con artists, illusionists, naked performers, card magicians and stand-up comics, all peddling their different styles of amazement.

Paul Dabek – Look at Me!
One of the big hits of 2015's PBH Free Fringe Paul Dabek and his dapper tartan suit return to La Belle Angèle for more late-night magic mischief. He has a wicked sense of humour and those not game will suffer the wrath of his sharp tongue.

Colin Cloud
This year Colin Cloud is using his deduction skills to expose you, as he asks the audience to help solve a mystery with him. Try not to think anything you wouldn't want revealed to a room full of strangers by the charismatic fellow.

Griffin and Jones: Slapdash Magic
Once described as a 'punk rock Morecambe and Wise' the duo of Griffin and Jones combine sleight of hand, cons, crazy inventions and stunts in a fast-paced show that has previously featured an escape from a straightjacket.

Peter and Bambi Heaven: The Magic Inside
A magic show starring a female, huzzah, this article was turning into a right sausage fest. Asher Treleaven and Gypsy Wood are Peter and Bambi Heaven, Australia's most deluded dancing magicians. Expect adult themes and a shit load of sequins.

Kevin Quantum: Illuminations
Magic meets science in Kevin Quantum's latest show of light-based illusions. If you've ever wanted to see a rainbow created on stage before your very eyes this is the show for you.

The Naked Magicians
Apparently 'good magicians don't need sleeves and great magicians don't need pants'. This nude duo strip away the top hats and capes for some R rated, full frontal magic.

Neil Henry: Mindwangler
Unfortunate that the word 'wangler' has ended up so close to the naked magicians. Entertainer Henry is out to top last year's show Mindsquirm, where he proposed to his girlfriend using an alphabetty spaghetti trick, and bagged over a million YouTube hits in the process.

Poet of the Impossible
Card magic and illusion meet eloquent prose in Renz Novani's latest show. An intimate performance with audience participation that brings together magic and poetry

Pete Firman: TriX
You're in experienced hands with Pete Firman as he celebrates a decade of shows. The star of BBC1's The Magicians blends his magic with stand-up comedy. Prepare to be amazed while guffawing.
