A Wilderness Of Error
Acclaimed documentary-maker Errol Morris has long been obsessed with the case of US army surgeon Jeffrey MacDonald who was imprisoned in 1979 for the murders of his pregnant wife and two children. This five-part docu-drama based on Morris' 2014 book charts the story of the man who has consistently maintained his innocence.

Romeo & Juliet
An all-star cast is led by Jessie Buckley and Josh O'Connor in the title roles for this film created by the National Theatre. Produced in Covid times, the piece also features Tamsin Greig, Adrian Lester, and Lucian Msamati.

Intruder
Stripped across the week is another of those Five four-part crime mysteries, this time featuring Elaine Cassidy, Helen Behan, Tom Meeten, and Sally Lindsay in a story about a home invasion that ends in an intruder's murder. Will justice prevail through this knotty moral dilemma?

Wellington Paranormal
In between the film and TV versions of What We Do In The Shadows, Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement created this mockumentary horror series about two New Zealand cops roped into heading up a new unit that investigates very spooky goings-on.

Sitting
Katherine Parkinson stars in a TV adaptation of her own play which garnered much attention at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe. She is one of three people who pose for a portrait painter in this piece which airs as part of BBC's Lights Up arts strand.

The Grinder
Actor Rob Lowe stars as Dean in The Grinder, a short-lived comedy about an actor who appears in a short-lived comedy called The Grinder. Following so far? Dean ditches stardom to become a lawyer much to the chagrin of actual proper lawyers in his family's law firm. Before you scoff, Lowe received a Golden Globe nomination.

Grey's Anatomy
The globe's longest-running primetime medical drama returns for a 17th season, and tackles Covid head on. Meredith, Bailey, Derek, and the gang encounter brand new problems in the ward, but here's hoping they don't have to launch into another musical episode.

This Is A Robbery
This four-part heist docu-series chronicles the world's biggest art theft which occurred in 1990 when 13 works were stolen from a Boston museum in the early hours. Over 30 years later, the crime has yet to be solved.

Them
A new anthology horror series kicks off with the story of a 1950s black family who move from North Carolina to an all-white LA neighbourhood, where malevolent forces await them. Deborah Ayorinde, Ashley Thomas, and Alison Pill star.

Trip Hazard: My Great British Adventure
Stand-up comedian Rosie Jones fronts a new travel series in which she visits various spots across the UK in the company of showbiz pals such as Scarlett Moffatt, Jamali Maddix, and Jenny Éclair while Olivia Colman provides some probably droll narration.

Filthy Rich
Created by Tate Taylor (The Help, The Girl On The Train), this soapy gothic drama stars Kim Cattrall as the co-founder of a Christian TV network which is thrown into disarray after the death of her business and life partner. A right royal family battle ensues.

Too Close
Shown over three consecutive nights, this psychological drama stars Emily Watson as a forensic psychiatrist who is commissioned to assess a criminal suspect (played by Olivier Award-winner Denise Gough) without falling under her manipulative spell.

All That Glitters
Delightfully caustic comedian Katherine Ryan is the host of this new talent show in which contestants seek to be Britain's next big thing in the highly competitive world of jewellery design.

Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!
Based on Jamie Foxx's relationship with his own daughter, this comedy aims to plug one of Netflix's most obvious gaps in their successful model: a hit mainstream family sitcom. We shall see.

Frank Of Ireland
A real-life family affair occurs in this sitcom as the Gleesons (Domhnall and Brian) play 'a pair of idiots' in which a thirtysomething fantasist with arrested development hangs out with a sidekick called Doofus.

Leonardo
Set against the glorious backdrop of Renaissance Italy, this drama series has Poldark icon Aidan Turner playing da Vinci, the man who excelled across many disciplines but struggled with his genius. Freddie Highmore, Matilda De Angelis, and James D'Arcy are also in there.

Steelers
This sports documentary focuses on the world's first gay and inclusive rugby club, The Kings Cross Steelers, as they head for a competition in Amsterdam. In particular, we follow the stories of the team's head coach and two of their players.

Mare Of Easttown
Kate Winslet stars as Mare Sheehan, a smalltown Pennsylvania detective who attempts to overcome deep personal grief so she can carry on with her job. But the people around her have serious concerns when she develops an obsession over some missing girls in Easttown.

Lucy, The Human Chimp
As an experiment conducted by Oklahoma psychologists in the 1960s, a chimpanzee was raised as a human. This is the story of how Lucy eventually became too strong for her human family and was taken to Africa where she was taught to be wild. Draw your own conclusions, folks.

The Mosquito Coast
Based on Paul Theroux's 1981 novel, this series stars the author's nephew Justin and Melissa George in this tale of a brilliant inventor who uproots his family from their Massachusetts home to the coast of Honduras. You may recall the 1986 movie with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.
