In the midst of National Hotdog Month, here are the best places to get your hands on the German creation in the capital
Much like pet lovers are often divided into 'cat' or 'dog people', there seems to be a similar divide in the food world. When it comes to getting your hands dirty with some delicious meat enveloped by bread, do you go for hamburgers, or hotdogs? The debate over which one is better will never end, but, in celebration of National Hotdog Month (which definitely is a thing), we've compiled a list of all the best locations where you can show your true colours and favour the sausage over the patty.

Starting out as a market stall in Camden in 2013, Popdogs has ventured out into the UK by bringing their homemade, locally sourced creations to festival venues. Follow them on social media to know where they will be popping up next, and expect to be served with a cheeky sausage innuendo.

The exclamation is well deserved, with their Heritage breed Frankfurters proving to be a hit in Camden Lock Market. Open 7 days a week, you can take a stroll down to their truck on your lunch break and decide between a Chilli-SteakDog, a DeputyDog, or one of their rotating specials, all served in demi-brioche buns.

As the very German name suggests, this is the best place to get a genuine german hotdog. Missing the original hotdog, Azadeh and Florian started importing meat from their trusted family butcher in 2008, and their business has been growing ever since. With a very personalizable menu, you can be sure to get a proper German hotdog exactly to your taste.

A 1959 Citroen HY van that used to be a fire engine is the unlikely travelling kitchen at Engine Hotdogs. You can check out their social media to see where they are parked at any given day, or even hire them for your private event. Choose between pork, beef or vegetarian sausages, and you can even add some fiery sauces (just remember the van doesn't put out fires anymore).
