British band Bloc Party are set to play their first UK gigs in almost two years.

In 2009 the band took some time out after their last tour – Bloctober – but came back onto the scene late 2011, and after signing with Frenchkiss Records in late March 2012, it seems the band are back on top form.

So far, only three June dates have been confirmed for the UK tour - Glasgow, Manchester and London - with other international performances scheduled later in the year.

September 4 – Mallorca – Rocks
September 5 – Ibiza - Rocks

Bloc Party announced the tour on their website, where they wrote:

“Hello internet, I know it’s been a long two and half years since Bloc Party last performed in the UK. Well, it seems that wait is over. We are happy to announce a short run of intimate shows for our friends in the UK and our friends in the US. We will be playing choice cuts from our new record as well as some more familiar jams. We hope to see you soon.”
