Buck Meek announces new album The Mirror, readies UK tour dates

Buck Meek, guitarist for prolific Americana act Big Thief, has announced details of his fourth solo album (and second for major label 4AD), and a tour across the UK and Ireland. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.

Titled The Mirror, the album is set for release on Friday 27 February and promises the singer-songwriter’s trademark combination of philosophical musing and the minutiae of daily life. It welcomes many Big Thief regulars and other collaborators to the fold, including regular producer James Krivchenia, Adrianne Lenker on backing vocals, Adam Brisbin on guitar, and Ken Woodward on bass.

Starting in Dublin at Whelan’s on Monday 16 March, Meek’s tour of the UK and Ireland will then visit Manchester’s Pink Room on Tuesday 17 March, Glasgow’s Mono on Wednesday 18 March, London’s Earth Theatre on Friday 20 March, Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club on Saturday 21 March, and Bristol’s Exchange on Sunday 22 March. Support will come from Kisser.

We awarded five stars to Big Thief’s latest album Double Infinity, released in late 2025, writing: ‘Commuting by bicycle into an arts facility in the chill of a New York winter hasn’t changed the trajectory of Big Thief substantially (we’re unlikely to hear Lenker’s attempt at EDM anytime soon), but it has exposed their sound to a whole new set of stimuli. Gone is their mannered Americana, replaced by shifting rhythms and a desire to tear down the folk edifice they’ve built.’ Read the full review
