Burger And A Pint: Treats For The Soul comedy review – Daft sketch comedy
Ted Milligan and James Trickey fire off a barrage of brilliantly silly sketches in a winning hour of comedy

Pity the poor soul that followed Ted Milligan and James Trickey aka Burger And A Pint at Leicester Square Theatre’s Sketch Off competition. After watching Treats For The Soul, it comes as no surprise they took top prize that day: this debut Fringe show would fill any room with laughter. The duo have the chemistry of your favourite characters in the most bingeable sitcoms. In lightning succession, they present a series of sketches so stupid, they just manage to work.
There isn’t a singular theme besides their charming boyishness and on-point execution. From James Bond negotiating to the music of Imagine Dragons, to a romance unfolding over an episode of Deal Or No Deal, each concept works. Carried by winningly smug delivery and self-aware commentary, the hour is filled with non-stop punchlines. They’re not afraid to go off script either, making the ease of their performance almost feel like play. Their comedic instincts feel both finely tuned and completely natural, giving the show the overarching sense of a hilarious night out with two best friends. (burger and pint not included).
Burger And A Pint, Pleasance Courtyard, until 30 August, 4.15pm.
