Bwani Junction, Alarm Bells and Honeyblood join forces for Breakout Scotland
The trio form the line-up at The List's first live music event
Edinburgh's Bwani Junction will travel through to Glasgow to join city natives Alarm Bells and Honeyblood for The List's first ever live event at Stereo on Thursday 21 March.
London-based promoters Breakout, whose events have showcased the hottest unsigned talent in England for the last three years, have now teamed up with The List to provide a platform for emerging talent from north of the border.
Four of the members of frenetic, tongue-twisting and since disbanded six-piece Dananananaykroyd make up 80% of the newly-formed Alarm Bells (who recently graced us with an interview). Anyone unfamiliar with Alarm Bells can expected a furious, swirling mixture of synths, elaborate guitar break-ups and an obvious love for anything Cedric Bixler-Zavala to be on show.
Fresh from their Edinburgh Hogmanay Street Party set, Scottish Album of the Year nominees Bwani Junction will join Alarm Bells on the bill. Their debut album Fully Cocked, featuring the heavily lauded single 'Two Bridges', received critical acclaim for its unique infusion of African beats with jangling indie guitars.
Completing the line-up are crunch-pop duo Honeyblood, who, despite having formed only a year ago, can already boast support slots with Deap Vally, Sleigh Bells and a Best Newcomer nomination at this month's Scottish Alternative Music Awards. The all-girl noiseniks will bring their Pixies-influenced sound to Stereo along with BBC Introducing's Ally McCrae, who will be turning his hand to DJ'ing on the night.
