If you fancy a stroll to the pub after your lunchtime fuel-up, Hendrick’s Brand Ambassador Calum Fraser shares his favourite places to catch the last of the fading autumn sun

Café Calton
38a Calton Hill, Edinburgh
You get more than views as a reward for getting to the top of Calton Hill. Set among the monuments and open from early until late, Café Calton’s wonderful food and beautiful drinks will encourage you to climb all the way back up again the next day. Get the timing right and watch one of the best sunsets in Edinburgh, with 360-degree views of the city.
Cold Town House
4 Grassmarket, Edinburgh
You’ll struggle to find anywhere more central than Cold Town House. Head up the stairs to the top floor for one of the finest rooftop terraces in Scotland: it’s particularly well-heated for these shorter days. There’s excellent dining options inside or nearby, and it’s also got its own built-in microbrewery to explore.
The Finnieston
1125 Argyle Street, Glasgow
This long-standing cornerstone of Argyle Street’s bars is an ideal place to spend an early autumn afternoon in Glasgow. If the sun is out, it has a wonderful outside space; if the rain is coming down, sit in one of the window booths and enjoy watching the world go by with a fish finger sandwich and excellent cocktails.
