Magical Christmas events for all the family

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… the National Trust for Scotland has a magical programme of events and festive fun taking place at properties throughout Scotland.

In Glasgow, Mrs Claus makes her annual visit to Pollok House and will be meeting visitors until 24 December. Surrounded by Christmas sparkle, this very popular event is one that families return to, year after year.

Culzean Castle in Ayrshire will be brought to life with characters from some best-loved fairytales and pantomimes for its Mission Snow event. Magical Castle: Mission Snow runs on Sunday 6 and 13 December.

Santa will be making a visit to House of Dun in Montrose on 5 and 6 December and young visitors will enjoy following a fairy trail to enjoy Christmas crafts in the Crafty Corner. The adorable Cairngorm reindeer will be at Crathes Castle in Banchory on 5 and 6 December. The castle will be re-creating Christmas on the Home Front in recognition of the important role Crathes played as a wartime hospital.

The new Battle of Bannockburn Experience in Stirling is well worth a visit over the holidays. This award-winning visitor centre is open all year round and has plenty to keep you occupied, with cutting-edge 3D technology and interactive exhibits.

You can also find inspiring gifts for the whole family at our Christmas shops, markets and online. Or why not give someone the gift of brilliant days out, every day for a year with a gift membership from the National Trust for Scotland, prices start from just £16.90. Plus, all profit goes back to protecting Scotland’s heritage.
