Christopher Hall: Pizazz comedy review – Bright, bubbly and amusing fun
The raucous party-starter serves up another hour of vivacious humour
Christopher Hall is serving sass and a perfect pre-soirée at Teviot with his raucous show full of snappy lines and memories of sunset snogs. Bringing a glimpse into the 2010s clubbing scene back to life in a fabulous ensemble, Pizazz makes you feel like you just found a new best friend at a wedding. Considering the allocated ‘pizazz’ invite to parties (which get earlier as he gets older), Hall recalls his friendship mishaps and mad nights out with a variety of accents and cleverly crafted callbacks.
He lights up the room with banter about babies, best friends and all things LGBTQ+ while the audience laps up his bubbly personality, dance moves and cultural insights (including the vibrant movements of stag weekends, package holidays and Magic Mike Live). Ideal for those who love a bit of participation, this brand of glinting-eyed humour casts a friendly spell over the crowd, making even the shyest spectator into a social butterfly and sending the over-thirties to bed feeling like they’ve had a night out by 11pm. While it may not be the most life-changing or philosophical hour at the Fringe, it will certainly keep you amused.
