There are some imaginative lyrics in this comedy cabaret act. Sarah-Louise Young has a good voice and good delivery but needs to work on her material. While some of it will appeal to your lower base, other gags will fly over your head - as happened with much of the audience when I saw it. Miss Young needs to work on bringing the crowd with her more and do more gags that really force that deep belly laugh. Her material might work with the more neurotic crowd in the south, but perhaps the crowd here are too diverse. She works well with her pianist and has all the other elements in place. Not great, but one of the more enjoyable comedy performances at the Festival. (Michael Plant)
