Pulling no punches for its tenth anniversary, indie music and arts festival Doune the Rabbit Hole has announced the first wave of artists programmed to perform on the picturesque Cardross Estate. Big names from this initial release include Bob Marley's reggae band The Wailers, synth maestro John Grant, dub pioneer Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Scottish punk legends The Skids and critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter Kathryn Joseph. Doune the Rabbit Hole returns to rural Stirlingshire from Fri 19–Sun 21 July. Alongside a raft of acclaimed and up-and-coming musicians from both home and abroad, this famously family-friendly festival boasts a wide range of activities throughout the weekend, from arts and crafts, poetry and jam sessions, yoga, storytelling and a large play area for the wee ones. In addition to a family camping area, 2019 will also see the addition of glamping yurts set up in front of the stately house of Cardross Estate.

Other big-hitters signed up to rock Doune the Rabbit Hole for its tenth birthday include the eccentric punk poet Dr John Cooper Clarke, who will no doubt be performing material from his latest collection The Luckiest Guy Alive; Bristol trio Beak>; snooker and DJ legend Steve Davis with longtime collaborator Kavus Torabi in tow; and Brooklyn-based experimental rock group Battles. There's no dearth of acts from Scotland's independent and DIY scenes either, with scheduled appearances from St. Martiins, Callum Easter, Heir of the Cursed, Free Love, Super Inuit and many more.
