Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2025 nominees announced
This year's acts include Dan Tiernan, Ian Smith, Sam Nicoresti and Molly McGuinness

The nominees for this year’s prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Awards have been announced.
Among the acts hoping to win Best Comedy Show is Sam Nicoresti for Baby Doomer. In our five-star review we said, 'Nicoresti is also an incredible comedian. There’s not an ounce of hesitation; her rapid-fire monologue flows in a quick northern patter that makes it sound like she’s slamming her cousins round the dinner table, not performing a sell-out gig at the Edinburgh Fringe.’
We also enjoyed Molly McGuinness's debut show, Slob, up for Best Newcomer, describing her as, 'an incredibly likeable comic harbouring a brittle streak that [Caroline] Aherne would be proud of.' Read our review here.
