With so many shows on offer during the Edinburgh Fringe, it's no easy task to see everything on your wish list. Even with three and a half weeks to fit it all in, some of the best shows sell out well in advance, and five star reviews and award nominations can turn the most outré show into a hot ticket overnight.

To give you a steer of what you've got another chance to see, we've selected five returning shows each from the 'big four' venues (Assembly, Pleasance, Gilded Balloon and Underbelly), featuring a mixture of comedy, dance and theatre – and sometimes all three at once.

Former doctor Kay brings sings silly songs and recounts horror stories from the NHS in a show that inspired his forthcoming book, This is Going to Hurt.
