Friday 13 may be an unlucky date for some, but Edinburgh’s Hogmanay organisers have decided that this year it’s a 'Lucky 13', with tickets going on sale today for the New Year event.

All tickets on sale today will be available at last year’s prices, and 10 of the first 1000 buyers will be selected as 'Lucky 13' winners who'll get their tickets for free.

Previous years have seen huge bands performing at Concert in the Gardens, including Primal Scream, Biffy Clyro, Madness, Groove Armada, Kasabian, Paolo Nutini and Blondie.

The Street Party is equally vibrant, with over 80,000 revellers showing up last year to bring in the New Year under the stars on Princes Street.
