Everything you need to know about Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 2025
The best festival in the Highlands kicks off at the end of this month

Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival has become one of the most fondly thought of festivals in Scotland, in part because of its mixture of A-list headliners, musically diverse line-ups, and other entertainment including comedy, cabaret, spoken word, dance, drag, wrestling, and a huge array of kid's activities.
Thinking of grabbing a ticket to the festival? Here’s our comprehensive guide to what you can expect from Belladrum this year.
When and where is Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival taking place?
The Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival will take place from Thursday 31 July – Saturday 2 August at Belladrum Estate (which is about 20 minutes from Inverness).

Who are the headliners?
This year’s headliners are Paul Heaton on Thursday, the veteran singer-songwriter formerly of The Beautiful South. Following him will be Supergrass on Friday 1 August, a band who’ve maintained an airy knockabout charm since their 90s heyday. Topping off the weekend will be Texas on Saturday 2 August, who’ll regale audiences with chart-topping hits like ‘Black Eyed Boy’, ‘I Don’t Want A Lover’, ‘Say What You Want’, ‘Halo’ and more.
What other notable acts are on the bill?
Inevitably there are always acts big or hip enough that they could easily fit into the headliner slot, and CMAT (performing on Friday) is exactly that. Slowly rising through the ranks of art pop, this Irish singer-songwriter is on the way to national dominance on the promo trail of her album Euro-Country, set for release on Friday 29 August. The singles already released from the album include ‘Running/Planning’, ‘Take A Sexy Picture Of Me’ and ‘The Jamie Oliver Petrol Station’, and they all exhibit her barbed lyrics, knack for a melody and powerhouse voice.
Joining her in the ‘voice that could drown out an entire football match’ ranks is Tom Walker (performing on Saturday), a Scottish singer whose beardy, beany hat-wearing persona has become synonymous with dramatic pop that could soundtrack a Bond intro.
Sure to stir the crowd into a frenzy is Skipinnish (performing on Friday), a Celtic music band big enough to fill the Hydro (literally; they’re playing there in September). They’ve been building a following for years on the live circuit with their high-energy brand of folk madness.

What's new at this year's festival?
A new addition to this year’s festival is The Picture Dome Festival, an on-site cinema which will show a carefully curated selection from Glasgow Short Film Festival and Discovery Film Festival, including family favourites, music documentaries, Gaelic language cinema and late-night feature-length classics.
Expect screenings of Local Hero, Highlander and a Saturday night singalong of Mamma Mia!, as well as celebrations of music like Since Yesterday: The Untold Story Of Scotland’s Girl Bands and Runrig: There Must Be A Place.
Dougie Brown, the producer of Belladrum, said: ‘We are delighted to launch this exciting new addition to our already eclectic and packed programme at Belladrum Festival. The Picture Dome Festival will be an incredible new experience for festival goers where they can lose themselves in the world of film from stunning animations to movie classics to family blockbusters and exciting new Scottish and Gaelic movies.’
