With live music hopefully back on all our agendas soon, the official beer partner for Music Venue Trust, Fightback, has launched a crowdfunding campaign which offers investors the chance to share in the brand's growth, whilst helping the music venues they love to get back up and running.

Fightback was conceived in 2018 by three friends over a pint in Camden's Hawley Arms. It sold over 10,000 pints and 10,000 cans of its first brew, with a donation from every drink going to Music Venue Trust, a charity which acts to protect, secure and improve grassroots music venues.

This £200,000 funding drive aims to support a significant live music ticket promotion, encouraging audiences to return to gigs. It will also help raise awareness of a brand whose ambition is to become the beer of choice for music lovers, stocked everywhere from venues and festivals to local shops.

In December, Fightback hosted a small, socially distanced gig from Frank Turner at London's Troubadour, live-streamed around the world, the proceeds from which were distributed across 30 grassroots music venues in imminent danger of being lost. And this coming weekend (Fri 2 and Sat 3 Apr) Fightback will partner with Fusion Fest for a two-day online DJ festival that spotlights the UK's grassroots venues club promoters, and will raise additional funds for MVT.

Gary Prosser, Director of Fightback, explains more: 'The cultural importance and fragility of live music has never been more understood, and we have seen the proof that when the grassroots community rallies together, it makes a huge difference. That's why we want people who go to gigs to own Fightback. We're a passionate bunch, and we want like-minded fans to come along on our journey to save these venues, which are integral to our music culture in the UK.'
