The UK's eSports scene is thriving and, best of all, the biggest tournaments are spread across the country, taking the action to Northamptonshire, Greater Manchester, Birmingham, London and Glasgow. Here are the five biggest festivals, all featuring tournament action.

epic23
This combination of social gaming and eSports tournaments features four games in competition: StarCraft II, Rocket League, Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. epic23 also features a pub quiz, board games, beer pong and a bar open until 2am.

King of the North
As well as its larger gaming festival for students, King of the North runs a series of smaller tournaments, with giveaways and other activities open to the general public. Confirmed tournament titles include Tekken, Street Fighter V and Super Smash Bros.

Insomnia 62
Insomnia is the UK's biggest gaming festival features Call of Duty plus more tournaments to be announced over the coming months. Other activities include the chance to meet YouTubers, explore new worlds in VR and try out tabletop gaming.

London Games Festival 2018
Backed by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, this year's London Games Festival aims to build on last year's event which attracted 50,000 people. As well as a strong industry focus, the show features the BAFTA Games Awards and a Fringe event for the public with quiz nights, comedy shows, musicals, academic conferences and tournaments (games tbc).

Resonate Total Gaming
Up to 10,000 visitors are expected to descend on the SEC for the annual Resonate weekend of gaming. Last year's event featured competitions including Tekken, Rocket League and Overwatch.
