Suitable for both Gaelic and non-Gaelic speakers, the workshop will focus on a diverse range of Hebridean songs, including waulking songs, lullabies and puirt-à-beul. In Glasgow, up-and-coming Duan/Dàna play The Hug & Pint (Wednesday 26). Ex-Edinburgh-GME pupils Tawana Maramba and Iris MacLeod are backed by instrumentalists Laura Penman and Finlay Lawson bringing a fusion of strong, traditional vocals and contemporary arrangements. Glasgow GME counterparts DLÙ headline SWG3 Warehouse (Friday 28), where they will launch a brand new album.

If you missed the Edinburgh Harp Festival, catch up with some curated online performances from Malachy Arnold, Eleanor Dunsdon and Gregor Black.
In new releases, Skye-native Malin Lewis showcases their formidable musicianship with Halolcine. The collection, inspired by intersections between LGBTQ identities and traditional culture, is named for a visible layer of water that forms between saltwater and freshwater. Queer themes and interrogation of issues around body image also feature in my own brand-new music video ‘Nochd 2024’, out now on Patreon, Lounges.tv and YouTube.
