With his bald head and thick-rimmed glasses, there is something a bit Harry Hill in Gary Tro's aesthetic (if Hill wore blue dungarees and didn't do character comedy). Aside from this uncanny resemblance, Tro's Fringe endeavour consists of self-deprecating humour and observational comedy looking at life, his idiosyncratic personality and just bloody well doing something. One top moment is a segment describing the time he was heckled at karaoke by someone who was nearly in the band 5ive, resulting in an angry monologue where he comically becomes bright red in the face.

Throughout his set, Tro builds up an excellent rapport with his audience while he delves into humour about his lack of hair; a fellow bald man loves it so much that he rubs his head, almost sexily, providing another funny sequence. Even when two people in the front row leave, offering a lengthy excuse, it doesn't dampen Tro's spirit, and he uses this to his advantage by poking fun at himself: 'do not feel sorry for me' he proclaims. This solid hour won't change your life or make you examine any important social issue of today but it's winsome in its own right.
