One of the most hotly anticipated aspects of the Glasgow Film Festival is its programme of Special Events. In previous years, ticket holders have been kitted out in orange jumpsuits to watch Con Air in an airplane hangar and have got their skates on for a pre-film roller disco before Dazed and Confused.

For its thirteenth year, the festival is sticking with its film themed event screenings that will take place in different locations throughout the festival. Announced so far are three cult classics: The Lost Boys, The Princess Bride and Secretary, with further titles to be revealed in the New Year.

After last year's mystery location in the airplane hangar, organisers have chosen the teenage vampire horror The Lost Boys as their secret location film for 2017. To celebrate 30 years since its release in 1987, GFF have teamed up with Empire magazine to create a mystery pop up cinema. Buses will transport guests from the Glasgow Film Theatre to the cinema and vampire fangs will be provided.

For more family friendly viewing, visitors can look forward to Rob Reiner's fairytale adventure, The Princess Bride. The screening event also marks 30 years since the films release and GFF plan on celebrating with live sword fights and treasure hunts.

Secretary is most certainly not one for the kids, especially when an after party with London's fetish club Torture Garden is on the cards. The event marks the 15th anniversary of the release of the BDSM film, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader.

Keep an eye out for more programme announcements in the run up to the festival, taking place in February.

Tickets for The Lost Boys and Secretary on sale from Thu 15 Dec at noon. Tickets for The Princess Bride on sale with the main programme from Mon 23 Jan 2017.
